MANIC MONDAY – Happy Birthday!

bday button sidebar

Happy Birthday to us!  Pocket Full of Posies is officially ONE!  We cannot believe that it’s been a year already!  When we started this little endeavor, Cammie only had three kids, and I was very pregnant with my second.  Now she is having number 4 any day, and my baby is almost one!  We started it all hoping it would be a success, but not really having a clue what to think or what to expect!  Not only that, we had NO IDEA how much we would love it and how great it would turn out!  Of course, we still have a TON to learn and a TON more ideas to put into action, but for today it’s nice to just be grateful!  So, thank you to all that have made this possible!  And, for any that are interested in our story, read all about The Pocket Sisters.

And, to kick off our Birthday Week…how about a GIVEAWAY?!!!

TEACH ME THURSDAY – Fabric Pumpkins

So I’ve seen the cutest fabric pumpkin tutorials all over the blogging world, so I thought I’d better give em a try…they’re so cute!  I followed this tutorial from Sunshine in my Soul.  It was seriously SO easy, and I love how my pumpkins turned out!  I’m not a fancy decorator, and so I went for a more casual pumpkin look.  Plus, I used fabric scraps I already had!

WHAT’S UP WEDNESDAY – Cammie’s Baby Shower

Remember how Cammie posted about a great baby shower?!  And how she mentioned I’d post lots of pictures and all the details…well this will have to be a two part post, because the memory card with all those pictures on it seems to be missing!  I do have a couple things to share though!

First of all, the theme was Super Baby, and it turned out SUPER cute!  Here were the invitations I made (LOVE photoshop!)

We decorated with red, yellow and blue.  And we made the cutest super baby out of balloons ever!  We used this as inspiration…
Girl and Boy Baby Centerpieces

Since Cammie is having a boy, we used blue balloons and added a superhero cape and mask.  Our super baby was even flying over a big mountain of jell-o kryptonite!  It was darling, and I can’t wait to share the pictures!

For the food, we were inspired by this Father’s Day idea over on alphamom.com.

Overall, the party was a success!  We had lots of fun and lots of good company!  Stay tuned for the pictures coming soon!

TASTY TUESDAY – Apple Season Has Begun!!

I LOVE fall!  Especially apple season!  Yesterday, my husband and his dad and brothers took off work to float the river and fish all day.  This meant they took our family car and left me with his car.  Normally, not a problem, except this time he left me with a car that had a flat tire!  I was totally unaware of this flat tire until I tried to go grocery shopping and realized I would be stuck at home until they came back!  So, what do I do when I’m annoyed?  Or for any reason really?!  I bake or cook something!  And since I needed to go grocery shopping, I was surprised I had all the ingredients for this yummy little treat!  Seriously, this stuff is SO good…don’t be deceived by the weird name!  It’s the perfect fall treat…especially for breakfast!   And it’s so good for you too!

Crockpot Granola

2 C. of your favorite granola
4 apples, peeled and chopped
1/4 C. honey
1 tsp. cinnamon
2 Tbs. melted butter

Place all ingredients in the crockpot, apples on bottom.  Cover and cook on low for 7-9 hours or on high for 4-5 hours (if you have a super fast crockpot like mine, it only takes a couple of hours on high).  Best served with milk (or cream!).

Enjoy!  (I wish I’d taken a picture!  Sorry!)

Freebie Friday – Birthday Planning

kids_spring06_bouncing_ball_xl I am due in 2 weeks right?  Well my oldest sons 9th birthday is in 3 weeks!!!  I have got to get a plan together or I don’t know how I’ll possibly pull off a birthday party for him!  I love some of Martha Stewarts projects and crafts.  I was browsing what she had the other day and saw she has several party planning check lists.  She of course had a birthday party check list.  I printed it off so I can start making my plans!  If you need some party check list go download some from Martha Stewart!
