Scrapbook Bead Bracelets Tutorial

ScrapbookBeads

Material List:

  • * Scrapbook paper {9-10  different designs}
  • * Elastic cord {0.5 mm}
  • * Ruler
  • * Scissors
  • * Glue stick
  • * Pen
  • * Paper plate
  • * Nail Polish {clear or sparkly}
  • * Tape {not pictured…oops I  forgot}

Step 1: Measure

Use the ruler to measure approximately 3/4 inch at the top and angle it till it is comes to a point {as pictured}.  Take note that my scrapbook paper is 12 inches in length.

Step 2: Mark

Using your pen, mark your paper.

Step 3: Cut

Cut where you marked.

Step 4: Glue

Glue back side of paper, making sure to cover completely.

Step 5: Roll

Roll paper, making sure you leave a large enough opening for your elastic cording to fit through.

Continue to roll, you may have to reapply glue as you go {our glue was drying quickly}

Completely rolled up!  Now REPEAT until you make approximately 9-10 beads.  For my wrist 10 was perfect, but I like my bracelets a bit loose.  For my 6 year old 8 beads was the perfect amount!

Step 6: Polish

Completely polish your scrapbook beads.  {This step could be eliminated but we want our bracelets to last a bit longer Smile}  After polishing let your beads dry.

Step 7: Cut your Elastic Cord

Measure your cording approximately 8 1/2 inches in length, and cut.

Step 8: Tape Elastic

Tape your elastic cord on one end so that when you thread your beads they don’t fall through the other end.

Step 9: Thread your beads

Thread your beads!!

Here’s another picture of my daughter threading the bead!

Step 10: Tie off & wear!

Tie elastic ends together and you’re done!  Wear your adorable bracelet!

Like I said earlier my Cub Scouts made these for their Moms for Mother’s Day and they turned out so cute!  All the boys are sooo excited to give them to their Moms.

We also packaged their bracelets in a really cute way…I’ll be sure to share that with you on my next post!!!!  Smile
