TEACH ME THURSDAY – Quiet Books

So, I was going through some old pictures, trying to figure out what amazing tutorial I could come up with for today, and I came across this amazing project Cammie and I did a couple years ago.  I must warn you though, IT TAKES FOREVER!  It’s not a hard project, just VERY time consuming!  But it turned out SO cute, and I can now say it was worth it (2 years later!).

I actually got this Quiet Book pattern from my wonderful grandma.  In fact, she made one for me and my siblings when we were little and we played with it in church every Sunday forever!  So, the sentimental value is really what makes it so neat for me!

Here’s the thing though…it would seriously take me days to explain exactly how to do this, so maybe one day I will…but for now you just get pictures and you super creative and awesome people out there can try and figure it out!  Good luck!

I will tell you a few helpful hints!
-every piece of felt you cut twice and sew velcro to one side and then sew the two pieces together.
-each page is actually a long piece of muslin that you sew 4 different pages on and then fold together (this hides all the ugly backs).
-we typed out all the words and traced them (muslin is good for that!) before sewing the pages together.

Isn’t it so cute!  The best church toy!
